Math

All students must take the math placement exam unless they have earned or expect to earn college credit to or higher than MATH 1142: Short Calculus or MATH 1271: Calculus I. Regardless of Math Placement Exam results, they will discuss course enrollment options with their academic advisor at Orientation.

If a student places into Math 1031: College Algebra and Probability/Math 1051: Precalculus I, they should consider reviewing the materials and retesting.

If a student places into Math 1142: Short Calculus/Math 1151: Precalculus II, it is strongly recommended they take Math 1142 (which is on an equivalent level with Math 1151). Successful completion of Math 1142 is sufficient to meet major and general degree requirements.

If a student places into Math 1142: Short Calculus or Math 1271: Calculus I, they should take one of these courses.
