Chemistry

The Math Placement Exam is used to determine the appropriate starting point for chemistry classes at the University of Minnesota. The majority of majors in CSE require chemistry or include it as an option for your degree, so the placement exam is required for all students. During Orientation, you will discuss past academic experiences, any incoming credit, and your Math Placement Exam score with your academic advisor. They will help you determine whether you need to take chemistry and which course is best for you.
