Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing:
Math
No placement necessary for major requirements.
Chemistry
BSN students are required to take an introductory or general chemistry course as part of their first-year foundational coursework. A chemistry lab is not required for the major, but completion of a lab with the lecture will fulfill the Physical Science with Lab requirement. Most Nursing students take CHEM 1015/1017 which does not require placement, but some students are interested in higher level Chemistry for a variety of reasons. If you wish to sign up for CHEM 1061/1065: Chemical Principles I and lab, placement in Math 1151 or higher is required to register, so you must take the Math Placement Exam prior to orientation.
